MOUNTAIN VIEW, Ark. — Country music fans are in for a treat Labor Day weekend as acclaimed singer-songwriter Allen Hurt takes the stage for the first time in Mountain View. The free performance will be held on the square from 8 to 10 p.m. Friday, August 29, hosted by Mountain View Friday & Saturday Night Music on the Square.
Hurt, who began performing at age 10, has written more than 1,500 original country songs over his decades-long career. His music has received airplay on radio stations across the United States and Europe, and his journey has brought him alongside legendary artists such as Del McCoury, Don Williams, Bobby Bare, Ray Price, and his mentor Porter Wagoner.
Continuing to write and perform the music he loves, Hurt tours with his band, The Mountain Showmen. He is also a proud member of both the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Fort Worth Songwriters Association.
