Traffic Stop in Gainesville Leads to Two Arrests, Meth Seized

GAINESVILLE, Mo. – A routine traffic stop in Gainesville resulted in two arrests and the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, according to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Office.

On July 23, 2025, Deputy Moss and Lt. Rhoades conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by David Davis. Authorities say Davis was found to have a suspended driver’s license out of Arkansas. His passenger, Michael Alexander, was on probation in Arkansas for possession of a controlled substance.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies discovered suspected methamphetamine. Alexander was arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The Sheriff’s Office noted that no booking photo was available. Davis was arrested on a felony charge of driving on a suspended license.

Both men were transported and booked into the Ozark County Jail.
