April is World Autism Month

As April marks World Autism Month, attention turns to increasing understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals with autism spectrum disorder. In Missouri, families affected by autism have access to critical resources through the Missouri Autism Projects, a statewide network dedicated to providing services and support.

Funded by the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s Division of Developmental Disabilities, the Missouri Autism Projects include five regional programs that collectively serve approximately 7,000 families. These projects offer a wide range of support services tailored to meet the unique needs of individuals with ASD, from therapy and diagnostic evaluations to respite care and assistive technologies.
