Arkansas Fugitive Arrested Near Ava

A man wanted in Arkansas was taken into custody in Douglas County after being spotted walking along Missouri 76 on Saturday morning.

According to an affidavit filed by Sgt. J. Piccinino of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, officers arrested Jimmy L. Reams, 36, of Arkansas, on September 27, 2025, on a felony warrant.

Troop G Communications received a call reporting a pedestrian obstructing traffic on Missouri 76 near County Road 105. The caller described the individual as a white male wearing a white T-shirt. Sgt. Piccinino located a man matching that description east of County Road 101 shortly before 8 a.m.

After identifying the subject as Reams, a computer check revealed an active felony warrant for domestic assault issued out of Johnson County, Arkansas, on July 23, 2025. The warrant was confirmed through Troop G Communications.

Reams was arrested at 8:04 a.m. and transported to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, where he was released into their custody. The Douglas County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office will pursue a fugitive from out of state charge in connection with the arrest.
