Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is celebrating a major victory for Missouri families, farmers, and the rule of law following the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) announcement that E15 gasoline will now be available for sale year-round nationwide—just in time for the summer driving season.
In January 2023, Bailey joined six other state attorneys general in pressing the EPA to meet its legal duty under the Clean Air Act and approve bipartisan governors’ requests to allow summer E15 sales. Despite a federal requirement to respond within 90 days, the previous administration failed to act.
Now, under President Trump’s executive order declaring a national energy emergency, the EPA has issued an emergency waiver permitting E15 sales through the summer months. The agency also lifted outdated fuel regulations that had burdened E10 sales in Missouri and other Midwest states, ensuring more consistent treatment of ethanol fuel blends.
