From the City of Ava:
The month of April has been dedicated as “CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH” by Mayor Kirk Pueppke. Receiving the proclamation is Norma Stillings, CHART. Also present were Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), Officer Brandon Reed, Ava R-1 Schools resource officer; Ava Police Dept. Captain Dwayne Butterworth and Sgt./Detective Aaron Williams; ladies from the Children’s Division, and Do Co Health Dept.
Effective prevention programs succeed because of partnerships among agencies, schools, religious organizations, law enforcement agencies, and the business community. Displaying a Pinwheel or planting a “Pinwheel Garden” in April will serve as a positive reminder that together, we can prevent child abuse and keep children safe.
