A Douglas County man is facing a trafficking charge after deputies executed a narcotics search warrant at his Ava‑area residence on December 28, according to a probable cause statement filed by the Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say the warrant was issued after a source reported seeing 39‑year‑old Sean Micheal Mason with methamphetamine two days earlier and stated he regularly kept large quantities of drugs and paraphernalia in a camouflage cooler. Deputies searched Mason’s property and a Jeep Grand Cherokee he was known to drive. Inside the vehicle, officers reported finding the described cooler containing roughly 60 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, baggies, glass smoking devices, psilocybin mushrooms, and multiple unidentified pills.
Mason was already in custody on unrelated charges at the time of the search. Deputies noted prior drug‑related arrests dating back to 2003.
The new charges include Drug Trafficking and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
