Deputies served the warrant at 6:12 p.m. on March 18 at a residence on State Highway Y, where investigators located Travis Lee Wells, 36. Sgt. Aaron Box wrote that Wells was detained while deputies searched his bedroom.

Inside the room, deputies reported finding a wooden box containing a mirror “possessed a white crystalline substance and was field tested, providing a positive response for Methamphetamine” . A partial bottle of MAX Nitric Oxide capsules was also seized after officers discovered a short plastic straw inside; the straw “did provide a positive response for Methamphetamine” when tested .

Several capsules containing an unknown powder did not test positive at the scene and will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Laboratory for further analysis.

Wells told Sgt. Box he had stopped using drugs “approximately 3 to 4 weeks prior” and believed he had removed all related items from his room . A urinalysis later conducted at the sheriff’s office returned negative for all substances tested, including methamphetamine.

The report notes that deputies previously conducted a consensual search of the same bedroom in August 2025, during which methamphetamine and a firearm were seized. Wells’ prior arrests for possession of a controlled substance in 2018, 2019, and twice in 2025 were also listed in the affidavit.

His bond is set at $2500.
