Ava Man Facing Criminal Charges for Third Time this Season

Ava, MO. – The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has taken a man into custody, who is now facing criminal charges for the third time in a month.

This series of events began back in December, when Sean Mason, 39, of Ava, was taken into custody for a case of domestic assault. While in custody, a search warrant of Mason’s residence revealed 60 grams of methamphetamine, leading to drug trafficking charges with a bond of $25,000.

Mason was released on January 29 without posting bond and was the next day found to be firing a firearm in his yard. Mason was then arrested and faces a third set of charges for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Bond has been set at $2,500, with bond conditions including a curfew and house arrest outside of employment.
