An 80-year-old Ava woman sustained serious injuries in an accident on Highway 76 four miles west of Ava on Tuesday.
The accident occurred when the 2018 Dodge Ram she was driving left the roadway struck a mailbox and a tree.

She was transported by ambulance to Cox South in Springfield.
