BAXTER COUNTY DETENTION CENTER FOUND TO BE IN FULL COMPLIANCE DURING STATE INSPECTION

The Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has received the yearly Detention Center report for 2025 from the Arkansas Criminal Detention Facilities Review Committee.  The yearly inspection was conducted on November 3, 2025.

     The inspection covers eighty-six (86) separate standards in the categories of administration, personnel, rules of conduct, record system, rights of the accused, detainee classification, security, medical, dental, and mental health care, communications, visiting, food service, detainee work rules, safety, and detainee services and programs.  The Baxter County Detention Center was found by the committee to be in full compliance with all eighty-six (86) standards reviewed during the inspection process.  

     The Detention Center contains housing capacity for 172 inmates.  At the time of the inspection, the population count was at 88 inmates.  The average daily count was determined to be 90 inmates.  The report indicated that during 2025 Baxter County invested approximately $140,000 in the Detention Center for routine maintenance, general updates, and basic upgrades.  Staffing levels were found to be adequate.  Employee files were found to be current and in order.  This report has been filed with the County Clerk’s Office and is available for public inspection.
