The City of West Plains has issued a Boil Water Advisory on Myrtle Street from Saint Louis Street to North Howell Avenue, Columbus Street from Myrtle Street to Abe Taylor Street, and Newton Street.
The reason for the boil advisory is caused by a main break in the area. For crews to fix the break safely, pressure dropped below the DNR requirement for a short period of time. Crews are collecting samples and delivered to the State DNR Lab today.
This boil advisory means that while the water supply hasn’t been confirmed as being dangerous, it is being advised to boil it and observe boil order precautions as a precautionary measure.
Before consumption of water, remember to boil it for at least three minutes, or rely on bottled water.
