WEST PLAINS, Mo. — The West Plains Bridges program is in the process of moving to a new, larger location.
The program, formerly located at the back of West Plains High School, will now be located at the former maintenance shed on the corner of Olden and College, across from the R-7 bus barn. Bridges helps provide food, clothing, hygiene items and other necessities to children in need in the West Plains R-7 and surrounding rural school districts.
Bridges coordinator Cyndi Wright told Ozark Radio News that the new location features roughly three times the storage space:
She added that a recent donation from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helped take up some of that new space:
The donation comes at a time where the services are needed more than ever:
Wright added that they are still working to have things moved a put up before a scheduled ribbon cutting on Tuesday of next week:
That ribbon cutting is scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, December 17 at the new location.
Bridges is open from 3 pm to roughly 5 pm Mondays and whenever a need is identified in the district.
