Bull Shoals Man Wanted in Deadly Shooting, Considered Armed and Dangerous – Authorites Still Searching

DUE has been located deceased in Baxter County. The investigation into the homicide is ongoing.

Local and state authorities are actively searching for a Bull Shoals man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred early Monday morning.

According to Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander, investigators from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police, and Bull Shoals Police Department responded to the scene of the deadly incident at a residence in Bull Shoals. The name of the victim has not yet been released pending notification of the family.

Law enforcement officials have identified Brooks Dean Due, 49, as the primary suspect in the case. Due is described as a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing approximately 265 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and possibly wearing glasses. He was last seen wearing a light-colored shirt and a hat. DUE may also be clean-shaven or have a shorter beard than appears in the photograph.

Arrest warrants have been issued for First Degree Murder and Violation of a Protection Order. Due is believed to be driving a black 2013 Dodge Avenger with Arkansas Disabled license plate 305607.

Sheriff Alexander emphasized that Due is considered armed and dangerous. While search efforts are concentrated in both Marion and Baxter Counties, no specific location is being disclosed at this time. Authorities are urging the public not to approach Due if spotted.

Anyone with information regarding Brooks Dean Due’s whereabouts or who may have seen his vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately or contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 870-449-4236.

Photographs of the suspect and the vehicle have been released and shared with media outlets to aid in the search.
