Children’s Behavioral Services to Host 2nd Annual Milestones & Mozzarella Pizza Sensory Night

West Plains, MO — Children’s Behavioral Services (CBS) will host its 2nd Annual Milestones
& Mozzarella Pizza Sensory Night on Sunday, March 23 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM at Pizza
Americana. The event is free and open to all children in the community. Registration is
required by March 20.

Milestones & Mozzarella is an all-inclusive event designed to provide a fun, hands-on
sensory experience for children of all abilities. During the evening, children will have the
opportunity to tour the kitchen, explore pizza dough and toppings, learn about the pizza making process, and enjoy a slice of pizza in a welcoming and supportive environment.  Pizza Americana proudly hosted the inaugural event last year and returns again this year as
community partner and host.

Throughout the evening, CBS therapy staff will guide children through the sensory
experience while also providing parents with information about sensory learning and play.
As children interact with ingredients, staff will encourage them to explore and describe
what they are feeling — Is it sticky? Is it soft? Is it wet or dry? What other foods feel that
way? These guided prompts help children build sensory awareness, expand vocabulary,
strengthen critical thinking skills, and grow in confidence as they learn to express
themselves.

“Our team had an absolute blast partnering with Pizza Americana and hosting families last
year,” said Logan Waggoner, Director of Marketing and Public Relations at Children’s
Behavioral Services. “After receiving such meaningful feedback from parents, we knew we
wanted to bring it back. Our heart behind this event is simple: to create a space where
children of all abilities can enjoy, explore, and learn together. Real growth, acceptance, and
understanding happen when we do more together as a community, and this night is a fun
and tangible way to make that happen.”

While the event is sensory-friendly and thoughtfully designed to support children with
diverse needs, it is open to all children in the community. Activities promote sensory
integration, motor skill development, communication, social interaction, and emotional
regulation — all through the universal joy of pizza

The event was originally scheduled for March 16 but was moved to March 23 to better
accommodate families during spring break.

Space is limited. Families are encouraged to register by March 20 at cbshelps.com/events.
