West Plains, MO. – The City of West Plains has announced this morning that the city-wide boil order advisory that was put into place over the weekend has been downgraded to a Boil Advisory.
The initial boil order is due to an power outage that occurred at the City’s water treatment facility, which led to a spike in water turbidity. West Plains City Public Relations Coordinator, Cody Sanders, adds information in an audio clip below.
As a reminder, a boil order is when there is a confirmed issue with the water, with all boil precautions being suggested for consumption. A boil advisory is present when water quality could have been affected by an issue.
