City of West Plains Recycle Department Gives Holiday Tips

December through February proves to be the busiest time of the year for the City of West Plains Recycle Center. Consumers are busy cleaning up after the holidays and the recycling center receives 20% more recyclables during that time.

Sanitation Supervisor Brent Lidgard wanted to remind citizens to recycle cardboard, paper boxes, wrapping paper, and holiday cards and envelopes without embellishments.

“We do not accept bubble wrap, ribbons or bows, gift bags, embellished wrapping paper with foil or glitter, cellophane, foam packing peanuts, artificial Christmas tress or holiday string lights,” Lidgard stated.

To recycle in the city limits of West Plains call 255-2330 for a free red recycle bin.
