The 2026 Citywide Yard Sale runs Thursday–Saturday, April 16–18. No permit fees are required, and residents are encouraged to set up, sell unwanted items, and explore deals across town.

Spring Cleanup Week follows April 20–24, with extra items collected on each household’s normal trash day at no additional cost. The City reminds residents to sort items before placing them at the curb:

  • Regular trash: extra bagged or boxed items
  • Large items: furniture and wrapped mattresses
  • Metals & appliances: washers, dryers, stoves; refrigerators and freezers must have a certified Freon‑removal sticker
  • Yard waste: bagged leaves and grass
  • Recyclables: place in or near the red recycle bin

There will be no curbside brush pickup. Brush may be taken to the Transfer Station at 1851 Old Airport Road, with fees waived during cleanup week.

As part of the annual effort, the City highlights Earth Day on April 22, encouraging residents to reduce, reuse, and recycle while cleaning up.

Tire pickup is available by appointment only by calling 417‑255‑2330. Fees are $6.43 per passenger tire and $10.71 per tire on a rim.

The City notes that hazardous waste, major renovation debris, and piles on trailers or trucks will not be collected. All broken glass must be boxed and clearly labeled for crew safety.

For questions, residents may contact City of West Plains Sanitation at 417‑255‑2330.
