Confrontation Leads to Scuffle and a 1st Degree Assault Charge for Wright County Man

Mountain Grove, MO. – A Mountain Grove man is facing a felony charge after a heated exchange led to a fight.

The probable cause affidavit states that this event took place on Sunday, March 22. The reporting officer arrived around the 1100 block of Hovis in Mountain View, finding a man covered in blood with clear injuries to his head.

After multiple interviews with witnesses, it was found that the victim had yelled out to a vehicle to slow down as it drove away. The driver stopped, exited the vehicle, and began to argue with the victim. After a heated exchange, the pair engaged in a short fight, in which the victim was struck twice, falling to the ground and leading to a head injury.

Harris was taken into custody and is now facing a felony first-degree assault charge—serious physical injury or special victim.
