Pedestrian Involved Crash Claims Life of 2-Year-Old in Shannon County

Eminence, Mo. – A tragic incident in Shannon County has claimed the life of a 2-year-old girl following a pedestrian-involved crash that occurred late Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash took place at approximately 5:53 p.m. on private property along Missouri Route F in Eminence. A 2017 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by a 37-year-old Eminence woman, was traveling eastbound when the child reportedly ran into the path of the vehicle.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but the juvenile was pronounced deceased on site by the Shannon County Coroner, Allen Ford, at 6:06 p.m. The child was transported to Yarber Mortuary in Eminence.

The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene. The vehicle sustained no damage. The crash report notes that the crash was listed as a pedestrian accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol confirmed this is the 13th traffic fatality for Troop G in 2025, compared to seven at this same time last year. The incident was investigated by Trooper C.C. Battreal, with assistance from Sgt. J.M. Weadon and Trooper B.A. Swink.

Authorities have notified the next of kin. No further details have been released at this time.
