Disturbance on Curry Street Leads to Charges for West Plains Man

Local law enforcement responded to multiple disturbance calls involving Eligah Talbert on Curry Street in West Plains, resulting in a request for an arrest warrant following a series of aggressive and combative actions.

According to the incident report, officers made contact with Talbert after receiving numerous complaints about his behavior. Talbert was reportedly highly intoxicated and exhibited belligerent conduct, including yelling, cursing, and making inappropriate remarks toward responding officers.

During the encounter, Talbert allegedly became physically aggressive, repeatedly invading an officer’s personal space and making unwanted contact. The situation escalated when Talbert reportedly spat in the officer’s face while continuing to curse. As officers attempted to detain him, Talbert fled on foot, ignoring verbal commands to stop.

He was eventually subdued, but resisted arrest by concealing his arm beneath his torso, causing a minor injury to one officer during the struggle. While being placed in a patrol vehicle, Talbert allegedly spat in the face of a second officer and repeated the act toward the initial officer.

Witnesses at multiple locations reported Talbert behaving erratically, using offensive language, and threatening physical harm toward bystanders.
