FEMA offers a variety of assistance options, including help with basic home repairs, temporary housing, personal property replacement, and repair or replacement of vehicles, computers, and essential school or work tools. Additional aid may be available for medical, dental, childcare, and moving expenses, as well as for repairing driveways, roads, or bridges on private property.

Applying is simple and available through several methods:

  • Online at DisasterAssistance.gov
  • Via the FEMA App
  • By calling the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362 (open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. CT)

In-person help is also available at local assistance sites. For locations, visit fema.gov/disaster/4865 and scroll to the bottom of the page.

Residents affected by the April 2–22 storms and flooding in an expanded list of counties have until Tuesday, July 22 to apply.

FEMA aid does not need to be repaid, is non-taxable, and does not impact eligibility for other federal benefits such as Medicaid or Social Security.
