Thomasville, MO. – Construction has begun in Thomasville for the purpose of mitigating any damage that could result from a flood within the area.
Associate Commissioner Jake Parker made the announcement for the project, who stated that this plan will redirect floodwaters away from town once the project is complete, protecting the homes, businesses and people of the nearby town.
In addition, lots of topsoil will be cleared as a part of the project, and the county is planning to donate it to Oregon County citizens.
This topsoil will be first-come, first-serve, so those interested and capable of hauling the soil must call the commissioners office for more information.
