Ava, MO. – A two-vehicle crash in Douglas County has ended with the total number of injuries stacking up to four juveniles and one adult, with injuries ranging from as far as minor to serious.
This accident report was made by Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, and states the time and location as being 4:08pm on Sunday, March 31st, happening on Missouri 14 just one mile south of Ava. According to the report, 38-year-old Springfield resident, Danielle Oswald, driving a Ford Explorer, crossed the center of the roadway. Then, a 16-year-old male driving a Dodge 1500 attempted to avoid the wayward vehicle, ran off the road, over-corrected, and struck the Explorer head-on.
Oswald was seriously injured, as was one 9 year-old passenger. Three other minors in total were injured, two from the Dodge, and one from the Explorer.
Those with serious injuries were transported via air ambulance to Cox South in Springfield for treatment.
