Authorities arrested three men after a significant drug seizure during a roadside incident that led to the discovery of multiple illegal substances, including methamphetamine and fentanyl.
According to law enforcement officials, approximately 40.3 grams of a crystalline substance were recovered from the roadway and later field tested positive for methamphetamine. Additional methamphetamine — roughly 5.7 grams — was found scattered throughout the interior of a vehicle, specifically in the back seat and front passenger seat area.
In a separate but related discovery, officers collected 35 capsules weighing 3.2 grams from the roadway. These capsules field tested positive for fentanyl, a powerful synthetic opioid linked to a surge in overdose deaths nationwide. An additional six capsules, also weighing 3.2 grams, were recovered from the back seat floorboard and front driver’s seat of the vehicle and similarly tested positive for fentanyl.
Taylor Owens, John Paulson and Michael Skouby are charged with two counts of Drug Trafficking and one count of Tampering with Physical Evidence. They were taken to the Texas County Jail with bond set at $3500 each for Taylor and Paulson, Skouby’s bond is set at $8500.
