Friday Night Severe Weather Update

Friday the Ozarks braced itself for severe weather as the National Weather Service reported the area was under enhanced, and then increased risk of severe weather. Shortly after 2:00 pm on Friday a tornado watch was issued for southern Missouri, this would lead to several severe thunderstorm warnings, and tornado warnings throughout the night beginning at 6:00pm and continuing until 10:30pm. 

Storms that pushed through the local area Friday included strong winds and up to ping pong ball size hail. Damage was reported to homes and businesses in Hartville(Wright County) as a service station reportedly had it’s roof torn off, and a mobile home was moved off it’s foundation. Reports of homes having windows knocked out by hail was reported near the weight scales on 60/63 in Willow Springs(Howell County), and at one point Friday evening Howell Oregon Electric reported 420 members without power.
