The Board of Trustees of the Howell County Health Department have reported that the long-time Director of the Howell County Health Department, Chris Gilliam, will be retiring at the end of August.
The Board announced that Mr. Gilliam is being replaced by Justin Frazier of West Plains. Justin has been employed by HCHD since 2003, as the Department’s EPHS supervisor. Justin’s experience with operations at the HCHD over this time will assist him in his transition to the Director’s position.
Outgoing executive Gilliam states, “I sincerely appreciate the support that I have received from so many within our community, in my time at HCHD. As a West Plains native, it has been an honor to serve Howell County residents for nearly 22 years.”
Director Gilliam states that the Department has experienced a number of successes and achievements throughout his tenure. Adding, “None of which would have been possible without a dedicated Board of Trustees, with whom I have proudly served.” Gilliam adds that he feels fortunate for having the opportunity to work with a wonderful staff at HCHD.
Gilliam states, “I want to thank all current and previous Board members, who have served on HCHD’s board through the years. I could not have asked for better people to work with.”
Gilliam added that he is happy to be passing the torch to Justin and a new generation of public health professionals. We have built a strong foundation in our first 22 years of existence and now it is time to take the next natural step. I have little question that the Department is poised to do just that. I wish them the best.”
