Grovespring Man Arrested on First-Degree Assault Charge, $25,000 Bond Set

GROVESPRING, Mo. — A Grovespring man has been taken into custody following a reported assault in the Grovespring area on Friday, January 17, 2026, according to the Wright County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputy Cunningham and Deputy Kinser were dispatched to the area in reference to an assault in progress. Upon arrival, deputies observed the victim bleeding from the face with what appeared to be a broken nose.

Following an investigation at the scene, Deputy Cunningham placed Richard McAllister into custody without incident. McAllister has been charged with Assault in the First Degree and is currently being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.

Wright County Sheriff BJ Adler praised the deputies’ response to the incident.

“The quick response and professionalism shown by our deputies helped bring this situation under control and reflects our continued commitment to keeping our community safe,” Sheriff Adler said.

All charges are allegations, and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
