Licking, MO. – On Friday, December 1, 2023, a home exploded on Myers Street in Licking, Missouri.
Emergency responders received reports of an explosion at roughly 6:38 p.m. on Friday. Multiple fire departments, law enforcement agencies, and medical units responded.
A rapid search of the location performed by the Licking Police Department recovered two victims from the burning structure. The injured victims were taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries. It is noted that due to poor weather on Friday night, emergency medical helicopters could not respond.
An investigation into the cause of the explosion and subsequent fire is being conducted by the Missouri State Fire Marshal’s office with the assistance of the Missouri State Propane Commission.
