Howell County reports 9 new COVID-19 cases

The Howell County Health Department reports that an additional nine cases of COVID-19 have been identified in the county. This brings the year to date total number of cases to two hundred and nineteen. Currently, there are thirty-three known active cases in the county. Of these thirty-three cases, none are currently hospitalized with COVID-19.

Eight of the new cases reside in the West Plains area and one lives in the Willow Springs area. Each case is currently isolating under public health guidance.  The investigation into these cases indicates that four are deemed to be the result of community spread, or the source of infection is unknown.  Five of the cases have been linked back to a known case.  There has been no exposures to the general public reported with these cases.
