Howell County Sheriff searching for West Plains Woman Wanted for Drug Trafficking

On June 28, 2022 Deputy Foster and Corporal Wake, assisted by Deputy First Class Bruno, Deputy Hummel, and Deputy Turnbull with the Howell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a residence in the city limits of West Plains for narcotic related offenses. Information was received that Amanda J. Jones, who currently has an active arrest warrant through the Howell County Sheriff’s Office for 1st Degree Drug Trafficking, was staying at the residence and currently distributing narcotics.
 
Jones was not located at the residence, and it was discovered she fled the residence shortly before law enforcement arrival with allegedly the assistance of a scanner monitoring law enforcement communications.
 
Evidence recovered in a search of Jones last known location
During the execution of the search warrant, multiple items associated with narcotic related offenses were seized from the bedroom Jones was allegedly staying in. These items include:
• Approximately 145.8 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
• 13.5 pills of suspected Clonazepam
• 527 pill capsules containing suspected Fentanyl
• Approximately 1.17 grams of suspected Fentanyl
• Approximately 6.45 grams of suspected Cocaine
• A scanner monitoring law enforcement communication
• Surveillance devices
 
As of June 30, 2022, Amanda J. Jones has not been located, and is currently facing new charges of trafficking drugs in the first degree, as well as possession of a controlled substance except 35 grams or less of Marijuana.
 
This search warrant stems from an incident on June 27, 2022, where approximately 82.0 grams of suspected Methamphetamine was recovered near the West Plains area by Corporal Wake and Deputy Foster.
