West Plains, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has announced their weekly Wanted Wednesday has produced results, with their very first featured wanted individual being taken into custody thanks to a tip being received.

Some of you may remember our very first Wanted Wednesday back on January 29th featuring Clayton Schafer. Since January, we have made multiple attempts to locate and arrest Mr Schaffer. The Operation Relentless Pursuit Task Force Officers have travelled across southern Missouri in hopes of locating Mr Schafer.
On Sunday May 4th we received a credible tip as to his current location. After receiving the tip, our Operation Relentless Pursuit Task Force Officer, Lt Jason Long went to work making calls to ensure Mr Schafer was taken into custody. At approximately 1:40 PM Deputies from the Taney County Sheriff’s Office located Mr. Schafer and took him into custody without incident. Mr. Schafer will be extradited to Howell County where he will face charges for Kidnapping 1st Degree – Class A Felony and Domestic Assault 2nd Degree – Class D Felony.
