Howell County Sheriff’s Office Releases Information Assault/Kidnapping Case

West Plains, MO. – Earlier today the Howell County Sheriff’s Office released information on a case that took place on the evening of Tuesday, March 7th.

At 6:22 pm on March 7th, members of the Howell County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to County Road 9370 in the West Plains area to investigate an event that included an intentional motor vehicle accident, assault, and more.

The instigating suspect fled the scene before law enforcement’s arrival, having assaulted one female, firing a weapon at another, and kidnapping another.

Roughly 40 minutes after the initial call, law enforcement was informed of a trespassing incident on Kody Drive in West Plains. The kidnapped female and suspect were located there.

Jesse Morgan of West Plains was then arrested and is being charged with 1st Degree Domestic Assault, 2nd Degree Kidnapping, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful use of a Weapon, and 1st Degree Property Damage.

Morgan currently resides in the Howell County Jail on $100,000.00 bond.

The Sheriff’s Department then thanked the West Plains PD and the MSHP for their assistance in this event and investigation.
