Howell County Surplus Property Sale Raises Over $40,000 for Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff Matt Roberts expressed his heartfelt thanks to all who participated in the Howell County Sheriff’s Office Surplus Property Sale held on April 13, 2025. The event, which drew a strong turnout from the community, marked the department’s first surplus sale in several years and proved to be a resounding success.

The auction generated more than $40,000 in revenue, funds that will go toward paying off an outstanding vehicle purchase/lease from 2021. Any remaining proceeds will be reinvested in the Sheriff’s Office to enhance daily operations and support its ongoing mission to serve and protect Howell County residents.

Sheriff Roberts offered special recognition to Billy Sexton and Justin Kraft of Billy Sexton Auction Service, who donated their time and equipment to help run the auction. Their support was instrumental in the smooth execution and financial success of the event.

Beyond financial gains, the sale also helped the department free up valuable storage space, improving overall efficiency and allowing the Sheriff’s Office to better serve the community.

Sheriff Roberts thanked the public for their continued support and emphasized the importance of community involvement in strengthening local law enforcement efforts.
