Missouri youth preparing for the upcoming hunting season have an opportunity to complete their Hunter Education certification through a local offering coordinated by the Extension Office. The course is required for most first‑time hunters in the state and provides essential instruction on firearm safety, wildlife conservation, and responsible hunting practices.
Those wishing to participate must register in person at the Extension Office, where they will also pick up the official Hunter Education book needed for the course. Registration is open now and will close on Monday, March 2.
Officials encourage early sign‑ups, noting that completing Hunter Education is an important step toward ensuring a safe and successful hunting season for young hunters across the region.
This will take place in Alton at the Multi-Purpose Building at 2:00 on March 8th. Sign up at the Courthouse.
