From the South Central Correctional Facility:
At 12:17 a.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, resident John Freeman, DOC No. 1367487,
confined at South Central Correctional Center, was pronounced dead at Texas County
Memorial Hospital unit in Houston, Missouri.
Freeman was a 23-year-old resident serving a seven-year sentence for two counts of
first-degree burglary, two counts for resisting arrest, four counts of first-degree
tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of attempt of stealing a motor vehicle, one
count of leaving scene of an accident, one count of stealing over $750, one count
property damage and one count fraudulent use of a credit card from St. Louis County.
Freeman was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on Sept. 29, 2021.
An autopsy will be conducted.
