Investigation underway after two bodies found in Mountain Home

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. — Authorities are investigating the deaths of two elderly individuals found behind a residence Tuesday afternoon.

Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel says a citizen called the police department and reported finding at least one body behind a residence just after 2 pm Tuesday. Officers responded to the scene and found two elderly people deceased.

The bodies will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for establishing the cause and manner of death. The names of the two individuals are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

The Baxter County Corner’s Office and the Arkansas State Police are assisting in the investigation.
