Local Artist To Discuss West Plains Area Rock Buildings of the Ozarks

West Plains, MO. – Barbara Williams, a local artist in West Plains, is giving a presentation on ” What Rock Buildings Say About The People of the Ozarks” at the Ozarks Heritage Research Center. This presentation will take place on May 14 at 6 p.m. She will discuss the strengths of the Ozarks’ people as seen through their rock buildings.

Williams received her degrees in art from MSU-Springfield and Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Throughout her education, she made the Ozarks the center of all of her artwork. Then in 2000, Williams began a series of documenting, drawing, painting, and photographing Ozarks rock buildings (native stone masonry). This resulted in many exhibits, slide presentations, magazine articles, and two Ozark Public Television programs on the topic of the Ozark Rock Buildings.
