Local organizations band together to provide overnight warming shelters

West Plains, Mo. – A number of local organizations have banded together to provide overnight warming shelters for unhoused individuals this winter. The Heart of the Ozarks United Way, West Plains Police Department, Ozark Actions, Samaritan Outreach, Salutes, and the West Plains Public Library have joined in the effort to help keep people warm when temperatures fall below freezing.

Unhoused individuals can visit Samaritan Outreach between 4:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to reserve a spot for overnight shelters.
