West Plains, MO. – A man was arrested earlier this month following a high-speed chase that involved multiple law enforcement agencies.
This began on April 14th. Law enforcement was in pursuit of a man identified as Jayson McDaniel, who is a suspect in both a burglary and murder investigation. According to the probable cause affidavit, an officer from Mountain View, Kylie McGee, located the suspect’s vehicle, a black Mercedes, at around 11:58am and a pursuit began. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office, the Mountain View PD, and more were involved in the chase, which led to speeds in excess of 125mph.
Stop sticks were employed near Willow Springs which led to the damage of multiple tires on the vehicle, which led to the eventual capture of the vehicle. A female passenger was also taken into custody at this time, but was released.
McDaniel stated that he had fled due to a previous warrant, and not about the burglary investigation. The warrant involved a nationwide felony extradition for Forgery and 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle.
McDaniel was taken into custody without further incident, and is now facing a felony charge of Resisting or Interfering With Arrest for a Felony.
