Ava, MO. – The officer-involved shooting event that happened in May has been found to have been justified by the Douglas County prosecuting attorney, Matt Weatherman.
Weatherman outlines that leading up to the shooting of Susan Sinclair in the right eye, deputies had asked Sinclair multiple times to not only drop her weapons, but to step outside of her residence while engaging in a lawful arrest.
During the event, both deputies were also fired upon multiple times before drawing their weapons.
Sinclair is now facing at multiple charges, including Resisting Arrest, 1st Degree Assault, and Armed Criminal Action.
Below is a recording from Prosecuting Matt Weatherman, outlining the process of events and his determination on the lawful actions of the deputies present.
