On Friday, August 22, 2025, Ozark Spring, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, (Ozark Spring, NSDAR) joined West Plains Mayor, Mike Topliff, as he signed a proclamation commemorating September 17th-23rd as Constitution Week. This year is the 70th anniversary of Constitution Week that originated with a congressional resolution petitioned by the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and officially enacted by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Constitution Week commemorates the signing of the Constitution of the United States. The purpose of Constitution Week is to further promote the study and education of the Constitution. It is the oldest constitution document still in active use today and is the basic document of our country’s republic, which protects the individual liberties of all citizens through written law.
