MDC to Host Ozark Needlers Nature Art Program

West Plains, MO. – The Missouri Department of Conservation office in West Plains is organizing a year-long sewing program for those interested to begin at 6pm, August 8th.

The program is called “Nature Art: Ozark Needlers”. The program consists of 12 sections that meet once a month all-year long, but an individual can join at any point during the program. Those who participate will learn how to stitch quilt blocks of iconic flora and fauna of the Ozarks.

Each class will focus on a specific plant or animal, as well as its history, habitat preference, and importance to the Ozarks. The thread colors needed that month, block templates, and information cards will be provided for each class, and classes will be held at 6pm either the first or second Tuesday each month at the Department of Conservation building in West Plains.
