The Missouri Department of Agriculture has announced the opening of its 2025 Specialty Crop Block Grant Program, encouraging individuals, community organizations, and research institutions to apply for funding aimed at strengthening the state’s specialty crop sector.
Applications are due by 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
Funded through the USDA, the program supports projects that enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops, which include fruits, vegetables, tree nuts, honey, horticulture, nursery crops, and floriculture. Grants can assist with market expansion, distribution development, research, education, pest and disease management, food safety, and crop-specific innovations.
Each project is eligible for up to $50,000 in funding over a two-year period, with payments made through quarterly reimbursements.
Successful applications will be incorporated into the Missouri State Plan for review and approval by the USDA. Those interested can find more information, including application materials and a list of previously funded projects, by visiting Agriculture.Mo.Gov.
This initiative represents a valuable opportunity for Missouri growers and agricultural partners to boost specialty crop production and market reach both locally and beyond.
