The Missouri Film Office has announced that Missouri has been named a finalist for Screen International’s prestigious Global Production Emerging Location Award. This international recognition highlights Missouri’s growth as a filming destination, noting its increasing number of productions, competitive incentives, expanding crew base, and diverse filming locations.

Missouri is one of seven global finalists for the award, joining two other U.S. locations—Broward County, Florida, and El Paso, Texas—as well as Canterbury, New Zealand; Wexford County, Ireland; Frøya, Norway; and the Åland Islands, Finland.

“Missouri was an incredible place to film,” said producer David Wulf, who recently shot two projects in the state: Holiday Touchdown: A Chief’s Love Story for Hallmark Channel and the indie horror film Don’t Move. “Missouri delivered on every front,” he added, citing the state’s range of landscapes and talented local crews.

Winners will be announced at the Global Production Awards ceremony on May 19 during the 78th Cannes Film Festival in France.
