According to a Probable Cause Statement on Sunday June 15th a Missouri State Partrol Trooper while stationery saw a vehicle at Star Mart about to leave, once they spotted his patrol car they pulled back into the parking lot and remained in the car for about 30 minutes. A little bit later the officer was traveling on a county road and observed the same car pull into a private drive and due to his training realized the vehicle was trying to avoid him.
The car was later seen driving on Highway 63 and once they saw the officer they slowed down to 55 miles per hour in a 65 miles per hour zone, after they failed to maintain their lane a traffic stop was initiated.
The driver and passenger in the vehicle were identified and the driver who is the owner of the car gave consent to search the vehicle. A black bag was located in the floorboard and the passenger Frank Roberts said the bag belonged to him. Inside the bag, a box with a digital scale and several baggies was located. ln one of the baggies, the officer observed a white crystal substance, he continued searching the vehicle and underneath the passenger seat, located another baggie of white crystal substance, a glass pipe with white crystal substance residue and a black box containing 37 baggies with a total of 199 capsules. The capsules were packaged in different quantities.
The officer tested the crystal substance with the TruNarc drug analyzer, and it revealed it was methamphetamine, approximately twenty grams in weight. He tested 1 of the 199 capsules with the TruNarc drug analyzer and it revealed it was 4-Methylaminorex, a scheduled 1 controlled substance.
Frank L. Roberts 62 is facing charges of 1st Degree Drug Trafficking, Unlawful Possesion of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Controlled Substances. He was transported to the Howell County Jail pending formal charges
