A Wright County man is facing multiple charges following a violent domestic disturbance at a residence on South Lake Street.
On August 21, 2025, at approximately 12:21 p.m., Mountain Grove Police responded to reports of a fight in progress at 420 S. Lake Street. Dispatch advised officers that yelling and commotion could be heard in the background, with a male reportedly “fighting with everyone.”
Upon arrival, officers found an elderly male victim (V1) being helped off the floor and encountered the suspect, identified as Christopher Dustin Irwin in the kitchen. Irwin was restrained on the ground by a male witness (W1) and was actively resisting officers’ commands. After a brief struggle, Irwin was placed in handcuffs.
According to statements from V1, Irwin had refused to attend a probation meeting and became aggressive, striking both V1 and his adult granddaughter (V2). Irwin allegedly attempted to strangle V1 before W1 intervened and restrained him until police arrived.
Injuries sustained by V1 included a small laceration to the hand, bruising, and redness consistent with strangulation. V2 suffered a contusion to her forearm and redness on her upper arm. Both victims declined EMS transport.
Irwin was transported to the Wright County Detention Center and placed on a 24-hour hold. He is charged with:
- Domestic Assault – 2nd Degree
- Domestic Assault – 3rd Degree
- Resisting/Interfering with Arrest for a Felony
