Mountain Home Man Declared A Fugitive For The Fifth Time

Mountain Home, AR. – A Mountain Home man was recently declared a fugitive for the fifth time after failing to meet with his parole officer last Friday.

35-year-old Stephan Whaples has a history of crime running from the cops starting when he was 22. He was the subject of interest in 4 manhunts from 2011 to 2012. These manhunts involved officers from many agencies setting up roadblocks and using tracking dogs and the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office helicopter.

After one manhunt, they found Whaples hiding in a house where the officers confiscated numerous amounts of drugs and drug paraphernalia and 23 firearms. 

Whaples has been charged with various crimes including, criminal trespass, fleeing, theft of property, refusal to submit to arrest, breaking or entering, commercial burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, criminal mischief, and possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

One of the times he was convicted of theft of property, he stole all-terrain vehicles to sell to pay fines from earlier cases.
