The University of Missouri Extension is offering a free Horsemen’s Webinar Series designed to provide practical knowledge for horse owners across the state. Hosted online, the series features expert-led sessions on topics relevant to equine care and farm management.
The upcoming webinars include:
- July 23 at 6 p.m. – “Toxic Weeds for Horses”
Presented by Dr. Tim Evans, DVM, Associate Professor and State Extension Specialist in Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Evans will discuss common toxic plants and how to identify and manage them to keep horses safe. - September 24 at 6 p.m. – “Hay Selection for Horses”
Led by Elizabeth Picking, Field Specialist in Livestock with MU Extension, this session will guide participants on selecting high-quality hay that meets the nutritional needs of horses. - December 10 at 6 p.m. – “Farm Taxes for Horse Owners”
Taught by Katie Nuener, Field Specialist in Agricultural Business with MU Extension, the webinar will focus on tax considerations specific to horse owners and farm operations.
