The month of February is recognized as Black History Month and the Historic Lincoln School has scheduled multiple events to celebrate.
The first event is First to Freedom: Cole County U.S. Colored Troops with Michelle Brooks Saturday February 7th, from 11-12:30.

On February 21st from 3:00-5:00 The Threads that Bind (Quilting) with Dr. Paulette Sankofa will be held.
West Edwards Days: African Americans in Territorial Edmond with Dr. Christopher Lehman will be held on February 28th from 11:00-12:30.
All events will take place at the Historic Lincoln School a 1400 Pony Thomas Street in West Plains.
